The Minds Behind the iKProfiles™

An iKProfile is an original fictional character concept submitted for consideration within the InnerKiller universe.

iKCreators develop the psychological foundation of a potential character, including her identity, origin wound, motivations, behavioral patterns, breaking point, and other elements that may inspire future storytelling.

You are not being asked to write the finished Toe-Tagged Tale.

You are creating the woman who might inspire one.

If Your iKProfile Is Selected

Submitting an iKProfile does not automatically create a paid assignment.

If InnerKiller decides that an approved iKProfile should move forward for development, the creator may become eligible for:

Creator Credit

When applicable, the original iKCreator will be credited in connection with the developed character or resulting project according to the applicable contributor agreement.

$50 Development Bonus

If an eligible iKProfile is formally selected by InnerKiller for development into a Toe-Tagged Tale, the original creator receives a one-time $50 development bonus, subject to completion of any required contributor documentation.

Additional Opportunities

An approved profile may also lead to invitations to participate in future creative development, community features, special projects, or other InnerKiller opportunities.

Selection of an iKProfile does not guarantee publication of a completed Toe-Tagged Tale or future paid assignments.

02. iKWriters

Turning Psychological Architecture Into Story

iKWriters take approved concepts and transform them into finished narrative experiences.

Depending on the assignment, a writer may work from an existing iKProfile™, an internal InnerKiller concept, an editorial blueprint, or another approved story foundation.

Assignments may involve original drafting, collaborative development, substantial rewriting, or other commissioned narrative work.

Compensation

Commissioned iKWriter assignments generally fall within a project-specific compensation range.

Typical Story Assignment: $200–$500

Final compensation may vary depending on:

• Expected word count

• Narrative complexity

• Research or development requirements

• Revision requirements

• Deadline and turnaround expectations

• Writer experience

• Scope of the assignment

The compensation amount for a commissioned assignment should be established before work begins.

Additional Compensation

Certain assignments may include additional compensation for expanded scope, substantial revisions beyond the original assignment, special projects, collections, or other work requested by InnerKiller.

Long-term contributors may also be considered for larger assignments, expanded creative responsibilities, and higher compensation as the InnerKiller publishing ecosystem grows.

Publication, traffic, engagement, or audience response alone does not automatically create additional compensation unless a bonus or royalty arrangement has been established in writing.

03. iKEditors

Protecting the Psychology, Voice, and Final Story

iKEditors help ensure that a Toe-Tagged Tale™ works not only grammatically, but psychologically and narratively.

Depending on the assignment, editorial work may include developmental editing, structural editing, line editing, continuity review, narrative consistency, character psychology review, or final editorial preparation.

Compensation

Editorial compensation is established according to the scope of each assignment.

Typical Rate: $20–$30 per hour

Some projects may instead use a predetermined flat project rate.

Rates may vary according to:

• Type of editing required

• Manuscript length

• Complexity

• Turnaround time

• Experience

• Number of anticipated editorial passes

The applicable rate or project fee should be agreed upon before commissioned work begins.

Additional work that materially exceeds the original assignment should be discussed and approved before it is performed.

04. Credit & Recognition

Good Work Should Have a Name Attached to It

InnerKiller believes creative contributions deserve meaningful acknowledgment.

When applicable, contributors may receive:

Published Credit

Eligible creators, writers, editors, and collaborators may receive credit on the work they helped create.

Contributor Features

Selected contributors may be featured through InnerKiller's website, newsletters, social platforms, community content, or promotional materials.

Portfolio Recognition

Where permitted by the applicable agreement and publication status, contributors may identify their published InnerKiller work in professional portfolios or résumés.

Future Opportunities

Strong work may lead to invitations for additional assignments or projects.

Credit, however, is not a substitute for compensation when compensation has been agreed upon for commissioned work.

05. Submissions vs. Commissioned Work

There Is an Important Difference

Submitting something to InnerKiller is not the same as being hired or commissioned to create something.

A submission is material voluntarily provided to InnerKiller for consideration through an authorized submission process.

Commissioned work begins when InnerKiller specifically engages a contributor to complete defined work under agreed terms.

Unsolicited or unselected submissions are not compensated.

No payment is owed simply because InnerKiller reviews, evaluates, declines, or provides feedback on a submission.

If a submission is selected for an opportunity that includes compensation, the applicable terms will be communicated before the compensated stage of the project begins.

06. Acceptance, Revisions & Payment

Clear Expectations Before the Work Begins

For commissioned assignments, InnerKiller will establish the applicable scope, compensation, and expected deliverables before work begins.

Editorial Approval

Commissioned work may require reasonable revisions necessary to satisfy the agreed assignment and InnerKiller's editorial standards.

Acceptance occurs when InnerKiller confirms that the contracted deliverable has been approved.

Payment Timing

Unless a different schedule is established in the applicable agreement, approved compensation is generally issued within 30 days after final acceptance and completion of required payment documentation.

Payment Methods

Available payment methods may vary according to the contributor's location and the payment options supported by InnerKiller at the time payment is issued.

Payment instructions will be provided directly to eligible contributors.

Taxes & Documentation

Contributors are responsible for providing any information or documentation reasonably required to process payment.

Contributors are also responsible for understanding and fulfilling their own tax obligations according to the laws applicable to them.

InnerKiller may issue tax documentation or collect taxpayer information when required by applicable law.

07. Independent Contributor Relationship

Unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise, paid freelance contributors are engaged on a project or assignment basis.

Participation in the InnerKiller community, acceptance of a submission, contributor credit, or completion of a freelance assignment does not by itself establish employment, partnership, joint ownership, agency, or entitlement to future assignments.

The specific rights and responsibilities associated with commissioned or accepted work are governed by the applicable contributor agreement.

08. What We Do Not Promise

Creative opportunities can change as InnerKiller grows.

Unless specifically established in writing for a particular project, InnerKiller does not guarantee:

• Acceptance or publication of submitted work

• A minimum number of assignments

• Recurring work

• Future compensation

• Royalties or revenue sharing

• Performance bonuses

• Continued publication

• Permanent placement of work on the website

• Development of an accepted iKProfile™ into a Toe-Tagged Tale™

We would rather be clear about what an opportunity includes than make promises we cannot responsibly guarantee.

09. Compensation FAQs

Do I get paid for submitting an iKProfile™?

Not automatically. An iKProfile is submitted for consideration. If an eligible profile is formally selected for development into a Toe-Tagged Tale™, the creator may receive the applicable $50 development bonus after completing the required contributor documentation.

Do I get paid if my submission is declined?

No. Compensation is not provided for submissions that are reviewed but not selected for a paid opportunity.

Can I negotiate a commissioned rate?

Potentially. Compensation may depend on the assignment, scope, experience, deadline, and available project budget. Any changes should be agreed upon before work begins.

Will I receive royalties?

Not unless a specific written agreement provides for them. Standard contributor compensation should not be interpreted as including royalties, residuals, revenue sharing, or ownership participation.

Can my rate increase?

Yes. InnerKiller may offer different rates for future assignments based on experience, scope, responsibility, or other project considerations. Completing one assignment does not guarantee a particular rate for future work.

Does being an InnerKiller contributor make me an employee?

Not automatically. Contributor relationships depend on the nature of the work and the applicable agreement.

Can international contributors be paid?

InnerKiller may work with eligible contributors outside the United States. Available payment methods, documentation requirements, and eligibility may vary by country.
