Print vs. Digital Publication
What It Means for iKCreators
InnerKiller publishes stories in two different formats:
Digital (online) and Print (physical editions).
They are treated differently — intentionally — and each serves a distinct purpose. This page explains how they differ in terms of compensation, royalties, and credit.
Digital Publication (Online)
Digital publication includes:
Toe-Tagged Tales published on InnerKiller.com
Online story features, archives, or serialized content
Digital-only releases with no physical print run
What Digital Publication Provides
✅ Public feature of your adapted work
✅ Creator credit (name or pen name)
✅ Visibility within the InnerKiller ecosystem
✅ Eligibility for future opportunities
What Digital Publication Does Not Include
❌ Print royalties
❌ Ongoing sales compensation
❌ Physical distribution
Digital publication is treated as a creative showcase, not a commercial print product.
Print Publication (Physical Editions)
Print publication includes:
Physical Toe-Tagged Tale books or anthologies
Limited or full print runs
Retail, direct-to-consumer, or partner distribution
Print publication is selective and offered only when a story is chosen for physical release.
What Print Publication Provides
✅ Creator credit (name or pen name)
✅ Royalties from print sales
✅ Formal contributor status in published editions
✅ Contracted terms specific to print runs
Print is where royalty participation applies.
Why InnerKiller Treats Them Differently
Digital and print serve different goals:
Digital prioritizes access, discovery, and audience growth
Print involves production costs, inventory, and commercial distribution
Because of this, royalties apply only to print publications.
This distinction allows InnerKiller to remain sustainable while fairly compensating iKCreators when physical sales occur.
What Happens First?
Most projects follow this path:
iKProfile is submitted
iKProfile is approved
iKProfile may be adapted into a Toe-Tagged Tale
The story may be published digitally
Select stories may later be chosen for print
Print is never guaranteed — and always communicated separately.
Credit Applies in Both Cases
Whether digital or print:
Your name or pen name appears on the published work
Credit is clearly attributed
You are recognized as the originating iKCreator
You may choose to publish under a pen name.
Important Clarifications
Approval of an iKProfile does not guarantee publication
Digital publication does not qualify for royalties
Royalties apply only if a story is selected for print
Compensation details are outlined in the iKCreator Compensation Plan

Transparency matters. We’d rather be clear upfront than confusing later.
